I cannot see the new product on my home page in Prestashop

I put some old products in the shop and set the date of the products earlier
in the database because I didn’t want to see them on top under the NEW products.

After that there were no pruducts at all on our homepage so I removed the products
but there is still nothing visible.
(when we used osCommerce in the past there was never a problem when I did that)

I hope you have an answer!

Thank you!

Hello Scrapbook,

Sorry for the problem, I did a little research on the issue. If you added the product directly in the database you will have problem seeing the product. The suggestion (from Prestashop) is that you do not add products using phpMYadmin . They suggest using the backend interface or add-ons for product importing. I'm not sure how you added your product, but if you can provide a little more detail on how you have done this, then we can investigate the issue further if necesssary.

Hi Arn,
Thanks for your quick answer.
We use always the backend for new product and we never use phpMyAdmin directly.
We put some older products in the shop and ofcourse they were visible in our frontpage
under New Products were we use the module Smart New Products.

Then I went to the database and I set the date from the product to an earlier time and that gives
the problem bacause now there are no new product at all under New Products.

If we ad now a new product then you can see that product. So that works fine.
The problem is that you don't see the other 3.200 product already in the shop.
And that's a real problem because we know that a lot of customers always use the NewProducts page.

I hope you now understand a little more our problem.

Thanks again!

Hello Scrapbook,

I looked into my own 1.56 test site to see what you could have changed and based on what you said it's still not clear where you made the changes in the database. I also directly into your own database, and it's difficult to see what change you might have made. There are 3075 rows of entries in the Products table, so it doesn't appear that you've deleted anything. Can you please give us details on exactly what you did in the database so that we can possibly replicate the issue? What field did you change? What tables in the database are involved? What products did you change? Currently, when I look in the products table I'm seeing the condition of "NEW" for every single product. We need just a little more info in order to determine why you're not seeing the rest of the inventory.

The problem is solved!!!

In backoffice> Preferences> Products> Products general > the number of days.... was back to '0'.
Maybe the reason that I change the date?!

Thank you from a happy customer!
