Hi,
I have a hard time to make my PrestaShop running as Multi Store on a seperate domain.
The main URL/Shop is www.kingsofsweden.com and the second shop-window should bee seen at www.marx-design.com BUT it redirects always to the mainshop www.kingsofsweden.com.

Does any body has an idea what I am doing wrong?

Hello,

Be sure to check the second store domain name and ensure it is a parked domain for the primary domain name on the cPanel account.

Hi Scott,
The parked domain is located on server of a different hosting company (one.com). Does this matter? Would you suggest to move it over to IMH, too?
Thanks ,
Thomas

Hello TomMarx,

Yes, you will at least need to point the domain to our name servers and then add the domain as an addon on the cPanel.

Hi, I tried all but it looks like my know-how is limited and I do not get it running.
I pointed the dns towards kingsofsweden.com. Now when I try to load the URL this appears:

Index of /

.ftpquota
cgi-bin/

I really cant figure out what I am doing wrong...

Do you have any idea?

Best,
Tom

Hello Tom,

Sorry for the continued problems. When did you change the DNS? If you just changed the DNS, you should allow for domain propagation which can take up to 24 hours. If you continue to have the problem after the time has passed, then please reply to this post immediately, so that we can investigate it further.

Kindest regards,

Hello Tom,

Did you activate the multi-store option in PrestaShop 1.6? it requires that you create the second shop group. After you create the group, then you add the new shop name. You would need to enable multistore under Preferences. Once you have Multistore enabled, you will see it as an option in PrestaShop under Advanced parameters. Once you have the group setup, you can add the new store (top right corner of the screen), and then you will see the option for setting the URL for your domain.

I'm not sure what has been done in your shop, so I need a little more information in order to assess the issue.

I hope this helps resolve the problem. Please double-check your settings to see if it resolves the issue gracefully.

Regards,
Arnel C.

Hi Arnel,
I am driving slightly crazy ;-) - I did all as you wrote, I even did add another domain to check if the first (marx-design.com) maybe was bad. But same result appears here (scandinavian-soul.com).

It can't be so difficult to do this?

The only thin I might need to mention is, when I add a new shop, this error message appeared (at both new domains):
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/kingso19/public_html/classes/db/Db.php on line 492

Has this maybe something to do with unluckiness I try to get multi stores to run???

BTW: both now domains are pointing to the following DNS: ns.inmotionhosting.com and ns2.inmotionhosting.com

Any other idea what could be wrong?

Thanks, Tom

Hello Tom,

I may have given you a bit of misinformation previously. I advised you to add the second URL as an addon domain. What I should have said was a Parked Domain. I have one working on my test site and it is displaying the store for each domain.

As for the error you are getting for the 'Maximum execution time', you can set the maximum execution time in the php.ini file.

Hi Scott! Now it works! (marx-design.com and scandinavian-soul.com) appear correctly THANK YOU!!! BUT: if I use the URL www.marx-design.com and www.scandinavian-soul.com, will both redirect to the main shop URL and www.kingsofsweden.com is shown in the browser...
Do you have any idea what this may causes?

Thanks
Tom

Hello Tom,

I see what you mean. The non-www version works fine but the www version redirects to the kingsofsweden.com. You may want to try to adjust the .htaccess for the two affected domains and force the www to non-www. This may take care of the issue for you. I would place this code at the top where it can run first.
