How to delete an erroneous index.html file - cannot find with File Manager

I uploaded a .pdf file and named it index.html (or index.htm) OOPS! It, of course, comes up as the home page of my site and is gibberish. I wish to delete it but cannot find it with File Manager. Please help. Thanks, pajuliet

Hello Pajuliet,

The index file that is created is kept within the public_html folder unless it is part of an add-on domain. In the case of an add-on domain, the file would be within the a folder under the public_html directory. You can use your Cpanel File manager to find the file:
