Hi, I'm having the same problem. I just upgraded from joomla 2.5 to joomla 3.4. The upgrading when smoothly. No error whatsoever, however "Save" and "Save and Close" button are not working. I have refreshed and deep refreshed as instructed (Ctrl R, F5, Ctrl F5, etc). Nothing seem to be working. I have also "Clear Cache" and "Purche Cache" etc. Still not working. I have changed the configuration.php file permission from 644 to 755. Still not working. I deleted the entire administrator folder and replaced it with a working Administrator folder, still these buttons are not working. Any help?

Hello Sargbah84,

Sorry for the problem with the Save and Save & Close button not working after upgrading to Joomla 3.4. When I researched this problem, I found a number of different responses, so it's hard to say which particular issue may apply to your installation. Check out this Joomla Forum post for possible solutions. They mention possible issues with plugins and cache which a few people said solved the problem for them. Check it out and hopefully one of their suggestions will solve your problem for you.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

hell Arn, I saw that joomla forum post before posting on here. I tried all the suggestions in there but nothing none of them help. However, came across a response on another post about Save Button not working for the Component Jumi. Someone suggest that after upgrading from Joomla 2.5 to 3, one need to go into the directory and add an ID tag to the form. The poster did and replied that it worked after they added an ID tag to the Jumi form. They said that unlike Joomla 2.5, Joomla 3 needs ID tags to save forms. So when you upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to 3 and have problem with Save Buttons not working for any extension or plugin, you need to go into that extension or plugin directory and manually add ID tags to the form like <form name="thisname" id="thisname"> for the save button to work.

So I'm thinking, if this is so, maybe I need to do the same for Joomla Save and Save & Close button forms. However, I don't know where in joomla /administrator folder I can find these forms.

Hllo Sargbah87,

Sorry for the continued problem with the Save and Close button when upgrading to Joomla 3.4. The only other reference I've seen that tries to resolve it is noted here. You may need to speak directly with Joomla support for a better answer. Apologies that we don't have a direct answer for that issue.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel C.
