How much memory can I use for video downloads from my site?
Category: File Management
I have iPad compatible video downloads that I want to sell from my website. They each are approximately 2GB. Does my current account accommodate the storage and streaming of such a large file?
We don't have any declared limits, but I would highly suggest that you do NOT serve videos of that size from the hosting server here. I would recommend a CDN (Content Delivery Network) service because the video would be much more accessible from a network dedicated to that type of delivery than serving the video directly from a shared server that is more suited to static content delivery. CDNs allow you to deliver video from servers that will be geographically closer to the person viewing the file, so performance of the website will not be hindered. You can find more information on a Content Delivery Network here: What is a Content Delivery Network?
