I'm trying to deploy a project via FTP in Visual Studios. I have the following settings:

Server: ftp.mysite.com
Port: 21
Username: cpanel login
Password: cpanel password

Install method CD-ROM
Not checking for updates.

I keep getting rejections every time, I tried using the /public_html/myfolder as well, no luck.

Hello Handillow,

Thank you for contacting us about issues deploying our Visual Studio project via FTP. Your FTP settings look correct, and you can verify the password by logging into cPanel.

If you are using a Firewall, check your access settings there.

What are the rejections you are getting? For example are you getting an error such as "unable to add file," or "authentication failed"?

If your problems persist, I recommend reviewing your FTP logs for errors or record of your transmission (if you are on a shared server Live Support can help you review the FTP logs).

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
John-Paul

My firewall is down and I am able to log into cPanel.

When I try to publish it theres a delay for a few seconds then it asks for my password again. I enter it once more and there is a long delay and the error I am getting is "too many connections(8) from this IP"

Hello Handillow,

Thank you for contacting us. This often happens when your software is creating new FTP connections, without closing the previous one.

Here is a link to our guide on the Too many connections error. It shows you how to view & drop idle FTP connections in cPanel.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,
John-Paul
