Excessive spam since signing up with inmotion

Hi all , as anyone else had this problem?
I signed up for a business hosting package with domain name over the weekend. Since then, I have been receiving a lot of spam emails from Gmail accounts offering Web design services and logo design services. Are my contact details not protected? Or are they selling my contact details to third parties? I have received already 17 emails offering such services and they will no doubt continue to arrive. I have registered several domains and hosting services with other providers in the past, Godaddy, 1and1, domainmonster, all of which I am still a customer and yet I have never received spam emails offering Web and logo design services.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with spam since signing up with your business hosting package. We do not share contact details and most certainly do not sell contact details to third parties. Your account does come with a tool for detecting and filtering spam called spam assassin. We would need to know the domain name that you're using for the account in order to investigate the issue further. Please provide this information and we can look into it in more depth.

the domain name I signed up is *******.com. Spam assassin does not help as it is not any of the emails of my domain name which is being hacked, it is the primary email address listed when I signed up to inmotionhosting that is being spammed. I know that it is only since I signed up to inmotion that I have been getting this issues because all of them refer to the the domain name I purchased.

Thank you for contacting us. I looked at the domain you provided, and it does not have privacy. When you register a domain, you are required (by ICANN) to have a valid email address listed publicly in the WHOIS information.

You can update your WHOIS information in AMP at any time, or purchase domain privacy. This would list an InMotion email address as the public contact, instead of your personal email address.

Thats a shame since many other providers include domain privacy as standard in the base price. Thankfully the 90-day money back guarantee allows me to transfer my domain out without penalty

I am having the *exact* problem and I'm terribly disappointed.
I've registered countless domains over the years....but within hours of registering my first domain on inmotionhosting, I began getting both phone calls and spam email. I'm REALLY disappointed. This has never happened with other registrants. In two days, I've received more domain registration related spam than in the last 20 years of registering domains.
