How do I point naked domains to www?

I want to redirect my naked domain ( to rather than having it undefined. I have been told this is a two-part process, and I have done part 1: In Google Webmaster tools, I have set the preference to www.

But I'm stuck on part 2. My domain is registered with InMotion now, and when it was with Dreamhost, there was a simple button to change the preference to www, but I don't know how to do it within InMotion.

Further, my domain is registered with Enom/Google Apps, and Google Apps says I must "Change the A record with my domain host, Enom, however, Enom said that I cannot change host records because I am not using default DNS records, and said that I should do this within InMotion.

How do I do this? FYI, my sites are on Wordpress.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Lillie,

Thank you for your questions about redirecting visitors through the www CNAME for your site. Normally, you would do this through the redirects area of your cPanel. However, since your sites are WordPress sites, this is actually controlled through your WordPress dashboard.

Forcing www in WordPress

Beging by logging into your WordPress dashboard.

Go to Settings > General and locate the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) fields (they're near the top of the page).

Type in your full URL, including www (e.g. into each of these fields.

This will set your WordPress site to use the www URL.

Google Apps and Your Domain
I'm not clear on why your A record would need to be changed for That domain is currently pointed to our Nameservers so it is hosted here. If you point the A record away, the site would no longer be hosted on our server. Do you wish to point your website away? If you want to use Google Apps with, you can do this by modifying your DNS records. For email, you would update your MX records. If you want to go to a URL like or for a Google Docs or Google Calendar page, you can do that by adding CNAME records for your domain. You can also easily verify your domain with Google by adding a file to your site.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.
