I am trying to install Prestashop 1.7. I can complete the installation, however after installing and testing the site I receive the following error message.

link to database cannot be established: sqlstate[hy000] [1203] user $$$$$$ already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections

I have read that it could be server issue with mysql.

Thank you for your question regarding issues installing PrestaShop. We are happy to help you troubleshoot further, but will need to know some additional information. Did you receive this error immediately after installing PrestaShop?

How did you install PrestaShop? For example, did you install using Softaculous, or perform a manual installation?

Is this user also attached to other websites, or CMS'? You can view this by clicking "MySQL Databases" in cPanel.

Thank you,

Hi John Paul

I was able to install Prestashop 1.7, however when I went to use the admin or shopfront I received the error about the mysql database max user issues.

I installed Prestashop from a manual installation.

I had to remove the database that I installed prestashop 1.7 to because it interfered with my other version of Prestashop 1.6.01.

They are both installed in seperate directories to different databases. Yet there was an interferance.

Hello suzieCHS,

That error indicates your script is keeping open an excessive number of MySQL connections (our limit on shared servers is 30). You should normally never be using more than one or two connections at a time.

You may want to have Live Support check into the list of active connections. You should also immediately close all open browsers, delete their history and flush the browser's cache. Close once more and try your website.

Kindest Regards,

I tried using different browsers, refreshing cache and all your suggestions. I will have to try the Live support suggestion.

I only have 2 mysql databases and connections.
