How can i assign a sub directory to Main domain in Cpanel

Hi
i want to know that how to assign a directory to main domain .
by default the public_html
directory is assigned for the main domain .
is it possible to assign a sub directory to it like public_html/new .
If its a safe process and will not effect the other functions .
I read about it that its not safe

Hello,

What you are describing is known as the document root. While for addon domains there a a definite document root like public_html/example.com. If your primary domain name is thisdomain.com and you want to have the document root set to public_html/thisdomain.com it can certainly be done. There are a couple of caveats in doing that, however. Check out our article on changing the primary domain document root for more information.
