# Countries We Cannot Do Business With – Trade & Sanctions Policy

We must comply with U.S. federal laws governing trade restrictions, export controls, and sanctions when doing business globally. Any person or entity attempting to contract with InMotion Hosting for services who reside in a country with comprehensive U.S. sanctions or whose IP address shows from one of the countries with comprehensive U.S. sanctions will be prohibited from obtaining services through us.

All “countries we cannot do business with” are determined based on the [Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)](https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/Programs/Pages/Programs.aspx) and related U.S. regulatory agencies.

## Policy

We **cannot approve** or continue accounts if the contact address or IP address is in any country with which U.S. law prohibits certain business relationships (trade, export, or financial transactions).

## Current List of Restricted Countries

As of the last policy update (September 2025), **InMotion Hosting** does *not* do business (cannot approve accounts) with contact or IP addresses in the following countries:

- Crimea (.ua or Crimea.ua for Ukraine)
- Cuba (.cu)
- Iran (.ir)
- North Korea (.kp)
- Russia (.ru)
- Syria (.sy)
- Portions of Ukraine: Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, & Zaporizhzhia
- Venezuela (.ve)

Additionally, other countries have partial, targeted, or sectoral sanctions (as opposed to full embargoes) under U.S. law. For example, OFAC sanctions cover operations in or with many other countries (Belarus, Central African Republic, Libya, Yemen, etc.), but not all business is prohibited in every case.
