Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative role is an opportunity for the right candidate to be a valuable contributing member of our sales and growth initiative team. You must have demonstrated success in solution-based selling and the drive to build new relationships while exceeding sales and revenue goals. 

This role can be filled remotely or from one of our offices.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Generate new leads and build relationships while progressing potential clients through the sales funnel
  • Qualify and follow up with inbound leads to book sales meetings 
  • Generate leads through outbound prospecting efforts such as cold calling, LinkedIn, and social media outreach
  • Attend IT trade show events to promote the OpenMetal solutions
  • Position the OpenMetal value proposition to CTO’s, Senior Technical c-suite Executives and Technical leaders
  • Learn new cloud infrastructure hosting technologies relating to OpenMetal and OpenStack
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team by providing feedback on the quality of leads and opportunities to improve processes
  • Work towards monthly and yearly MRR sales targets

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven sales experience in outbound and inbound sales pipelines
  • Proven experience developing relationships through solution-based sales techniques
  • Experience generating new leads through automation software is highly preferred
  • Experience selling IT infrastructure hardware, Virtual Servers, Storage, Hosting or related services
  • Ability to learn technical concepts and benefits of open-source technology
  • HubSpot or similar CRM experience managing the sales funnel
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to develop new marketing channels and utilize existing networks of contacts to ensure customer relationships
  • Degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Communication or related field preferred

The annual salary for this position starts at $75,000 – $80,000 plus commission. On target earnings are estimated at $150,000 annually.
