Have you seen the new Star Trek yet?  It\u2019s fantastic.  Like all good fangirls, I\u2019m enamored with all things Benedict Cumberbatch.   But that has nothing<\/i> to do with this post, except that it gave me the opportunity for a timely and creative opening to talk about our Account Management Panel (AMP).<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t been using our AMP software yet, you\u2019re really missing out.  But, now is the time!  We\u2019ve added some awesome new features that will give you more control than ever over your account and server.  It\u2019s majestic.<\/p>\n

But, before we get into those new features, let\u2019s recap what makes AMP so fantastic.  If you haven\u2019t used it before, go to our website.  On the top of every page you\u2019ll see the log in button.<\/p>\n

\"AMP\"<\/a><\/p>\n

From here, you can go anywhere!  It has an option to check your billing information, including reviewing what items are currently being billed for your account, reviewing past receipts, and even updating contact and payment information.  This saves you time and effort and takes the stress of billing off your shoulders.  You can even set renewal reminders, so you will always know what renewal is coming and when.<\/p>\n

AMP also gives you direct access to your cPanel, and if you\u2019re on a VPS or Dedicated platform, Web Host Manager (WHM).  This makes accessing all your accounts easier and faster as they are all linked to one central location.<\/p>\n

But, you probably already knew that.  What you may not have known, is that we\u2019ve added even more awesome features.<\/p>\n

Purchase a new IP Address<\/b><\/p>\n

You can now purchase a new IP address to your account directly through AMP.<\/i> Yep.  You don\u2019t have to contact our Support Team for it anymore, just click a few buttons and you\u2019re on your way.<\/p>\n

How do you do this?  It is located under \u201cAdditional Services\u201d then, \u201cOther\u201d.  Select purchase IP address.  Done and done.<\/p>\n

Change Your Primary Domain Name<\/b><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve also added the option to update your shared hosting account\u2019s primary domain name.  So, if you decide the domain that was your primary is no longer needed, you can just log into your AMP, cancel the renewal on that domain and put a new domain in its place.<\/p>\n

Start in the \u201cDetails\u201d section under \u201cAccount and Billing\u201d.  From there, click, \u201cMake Changes\u201d, and select \u201cChange Primary Domain\u201d.  Follow the prompts from there and with a bit of propagation time, you have a new primary domain name.<\/p>\n

Restart Your Virtual Private Server<\/b><\/p>\n

For whatever reason, there may come a time when you, or your site administrator, may need to reboot your server.  Before, that was a contact to our Support Team with an escalation to our System Administrators.  That took time.  However, now you can restart your VPS\u2019s services right from the comfort of your living room, or office, or bathroom, or wherever you do your work.  We don\u2019t judge here.<\/p>\n

In AMP, we\u2019re going to venture back to \u201cDetails\u201d under \u201cAccounts and Billing\u201d.  In your \u201cActive Subscriptions\u201d section, you should see a button that says, \u201cRestart VPS\u201d.  Click that.<\/p>\n

WHAMO! <\/b><\/p>\n

Your VPS is restarting.  It\u2019s like a direct line to our System Administrators.  Or magic; if you\u2019re like me and think all this internet and technology stuff is secretly operated by wizards in disguise.<\/p>\n

Once everything is restarted and ready to go again, you\u2019ll get a SUCCESS message.  You\u2019ll feel good about yourself.  You will have accomplished something that day.  This is what InMotion Hosting and AMP does for you, it brightens your day and boosts your confidence.  Maybe we should rename it to Awe-inspiring Magnificent Panel of Wonder.  AMPOW! That\u2019s practically perfection.<\/p>\n
