Hunting Down the Best Free WordPress Website Builder

Hunting Down the Best Free WordPress Website Builder

Whether you are using your WordPress website to fuel your online business or as a personal project, the key to making it look the best is to use a powerful website builder that allows complete control.  There are a lot of different options currently available and each one has their own specific pros and cons.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the most popular of these website builders and see what they bring to the table.

Page Builder by SiteOrigin

This particular free WordPress website builder is one of the most popular and downloaded of all the plugins that are available.  At thirteen million downloads and counting, it’s hard to argue with the sheer numbers of this particular plugin.

It’s easy to see why this is such a popular choice because of the eye-catching pre-designed page templates and the very easy interface that allows you to just drag-and-drop features onto the page. It also has the ability to view previous changes that were made. You can easily revert these changes at any time. This also features a wide-range of widgets including image sliders, buttons, and tables, although it does not have as many as other builders.

Elementor

This is a newer website builder plugin that is starting to get a lot of good visibility from those who are using it. This one also features a drag-and-drop interface and a vast array of templates. One key difference between this builder is how the interface allows for inline text editing. This brings a new ease to editing your website. The widgets supplied are plentiful, but if you need more, you can download third party widgets as well.

Another good feature that separates this from other builders is the mobile-preview option. See how your website looks on a mobile device.

The only downside to this builder (and it’s a minor quibble) is that the page template library includes free templates mixed with premium ones that do have a small cost.

Beaver Builder

Beaver Builder allows you the ability to customize add-ons, giving more design flexibility.  The interface is pretty clean allowing you to get a full preview of your site with a click of a button.  It also allows inline text editing; making it smooth and easy to edit your text.

The only downside to Beaver Builder is that the free option is limited.  For instance, you only have access to six modules as opposed to 30 when you upgrade to the paid premium platform.  In addition, Beaver Builder does not offer any pre-built page templates.

Brizy

This is a new option that came out earlier this year. However, it is also starting to get a good reputation online. The interface for this builder is easy to use and is exclusively a front-end builder. It also offers 17 elements and 150 template sections as part of its platform. It’s expected that this will likely expand as the plugin continues to grow.  Currently, there are plans for a paid version to come out later in the year.

Themify

This builder offers a free version, but offers very few options. It does allow front-end editing to modify the web page, but it does not allow you to edit text inline. The one benefit to this builder is that it lets you use the WordPress editor instead of forcing you to use its pre-designed interface. This is a plus for those who are already comfortable with the WordPress editor.

Finding the right free WordPress website builder can be a challenging task. Knowing the specifics of what you need along with having flexible features for design is important.  Once you find the right WordPress website builder, you’ll be able to use this tool to design the best possible website.

No matter which website builder you choose, your WordPress website can be slowed down due to plugins and themes. One of the best ways to prevent website slowness is to use WordPress Hosting. Not only does it bring speed, but also a full toolbox to assist you with keeping your website updated and available for all of your visitors.
