# How to Fix the HTTPS &#8220;Not Secure&#8221; Message in Chrome

[Google Chrome recently announced](https://security.googleblog.com/2018/02/a-secure-web-is-here-to-stay.html) that in an upcoming update, they will be placing a “Not secure” label next to every website URL that is not using HTTPS. You can see this label near the browser’s address bar:

What does this mean for you? If your website doesn’t have a secure, encrypted connection for your visitors to use, Google Chrome will notify every visitor that your website is not secure by flagging it in the search bar.
