How did you get started in the web hosting field?
Surprisingly,  I didn’t go to school to learn about computers or technology. I actually went to school to be a pastor. I had created a few websites and played around with Linux at home, but nothing  on a professional level. InMotion allowed me my first opportunity in the web hosting field. I started out in Tier 1 Technical Support, and quickly moved to Tier 2-C. There I became the Team Lead, and soon moved to the Training Department. Since being hired at InMotion from 2010, I have learned something new every single day; and I love it!

How did you get started in the web hosting field?
I had experience in intranets from my accounting and tax practice. After selling the business, I acquired a job with my family as a webmaster. In that position I started using Joomla! in the Mambo days. I also developed and co-authored some components for that Joomla. Eventually it spawned into a business that provided Joomla support and services. Doing the development work gave me exposure to web hosting which I found to be very exciting.

How did you get started in the web hosting field?
I had taken an internship with InMotion’s corporate IT department while I was in school. Applying my Linux background to the job earned me a part time position as a Systems Administrator, and the rest is history.

How did you get started in the web hosting field?
I have always been interested in servers and networking. Working in the computer industry starting at the age of 16 (I got to bypass that teen-age food industry part) I’ve always been able to find my place.  The field is always changing, and you very seldom do the same thing more than one day in a row.  When I learned that servers and networking was where I had the most fun, I explored how I could use both of these and still have fun with what I do everyday.  Web hosting was it!

How did you get started in the web hosting field?
Bills! While I never planned to join the web hosting field, I am quite glad I did. Originally I was just looking for a better opportunity to grow and figured, since I’ve always been the “computer person” in my family, that I ought to give it a shot. Little did I know that the web hosting world was so vast! There is so much involved and it’s an ever evolving environment. Fortunately for me, turned out I’m not that shabby and it’s actually quite the exciting field. I love finally understanding how “the web” works and knowing that I have the power to create a presence online. Now with a couple of clicks and some spare time, I can easily create a website with WordPress and other Content Management Systems. Knowing that I have that ability feels awesome. Plus for bonus points, it is a great way to wow people.

How did you get started in the web hosting field?
InMotion Hosting is my first experience with the web hosting industry. As a “user” of the web, I had never really given much thought to how it worked behind the scenes, just that I could get to the sites that I wanted too and my email worked correctly. I was truly amazed at how much technical knowledge it really takes to keep sites up and running. I’ve learned so many new and exciting things here at IMH, that although at work I will never be the most technical person in the room, in my circle of HR associates and family members, I’ve learned enough to really sound sophisticated in conversation. A big shout out to all the wonderful team members in VA and CA, that have been so patience in teaching me the aspects of web hosting and web design.

How did you get started in the web hosting field?
I’ve always been the person that my family and friends approached for computer related issues, but the first time I heard anything about Web Hosting was actually when starting with InMotion. From there I quickly found that the industry is one of the only industries that is constantly evolving and growing, which is extremely exciting. WordPress is where I first learned the art of web design and especially coding, and now I’m not only a contact for computer problems but the person that my friends and family contact about setting up their website!
