Setting up your Admin Profile in BuddyPressWritten by Tim Sisson
BuddyPress by default creates a user profile for your administrator account from WordPress. You can customize the profile further. On the right side of your website you'll see the 'admin' (or whatever your administrator account is named). Click on the link above "Log Out"
From here you can customize your profile. Click on the profile tab on the screen.
From here you have three options: Public, Edit, and Change Avatar.
- Public: Shows you the Base, if you click on the user, it will display the groups they belong to do so.
- Edit: This allows you to change the name associated with the account. When you change this, it will update the name the public will see.
- Change Avatar: This tab gives you the ability to upload a picture to use as an avatar. If there’s a Gravatar associated with your email address it will use that.
As you can see in the image above, we uploaded a picture to use for our profile.
The next tab that is important is the Settings tab. The general settings allows you to update the password and email address associated with your profile. The notification settings allow you to decide what you are notified about.
