Creating your own social network: An introduction to BuddyPress

BuddyPress is built on the WordPress content management system and is designed to bring people together. It works to enable people with similar interests to connect and communicate amongst one another. Some great examples of BuddyPress uses might be:

  • A school social network
  • Internal tool for communicating in your company
  • A niche social network about a specific topic

The sky is really the limit with BuddyPress. You can use it for anything you’d like. Keep in mind you’ll need a working installation of WordPress to use BuddyPress. If you need more information about installing WordPress please see our education channel.
