Creating a coming soon page in WordPress
If you're actively working on your site, but want to get something up quickly to keep your customers in the loop, you might want to create a coming soon page. In this article, we will show you how to easily create a coming soon page on your WordPress site using the freely available Ultimate Coming Soon Page plugin.
Installing the Ultimate Coming Soon Page plugin
Once logged in, hover over Plugins, then click on Add New.
On this page, enter Ultimate Coming Soon Page and click Search Plugins. After submitting the search box, you should be presented with a list of search results.
The first result should be the plugin that we are looking for. To install it, click Install Now. WordPress will then automatically handle the download and installation of the Ultimate Coming Soon Page plugin. Be sure to click the Activate Plugin button to activate the Ultimate Coming Soon Page plugin on your WordPress site.
Creating your coming soon page
The coming soon page can be activated and created quite easily from directly within your WordPress admin. To do so, you may hover over Settings, then click on Coming Soon.
Within this page, you will be able to activate the coming soon page for your WordPress site. To enable the coming soon page, click the checkbox labeled Enable.
There are several settings that you may adjust to make your coming soon page both attractive as well as functional. Each of the options within it are very self-explanatory, so we'll just go over a few things that are able to be done:
Upload an image, headline, and description for your coming soon page.
Display a form to subscribe to your mailing list.
Define a background color and image
Define fonts, font colors, text effects, and even more by using custom CSS.
Previewing your coming soon page
Coming soon pages are not visible to any administrative users on the home page of your site so you will need to either log out of your WordPress site, or use the live preview option.
Within your settings page, click on the Live Preview tab. This will bring up a window to show what your coming soon page will look like on your WordPress site. If you want to see it live on your site, you may of course still visit your WordPress site while logged out of your WordPress admin dashboard.

Nice post! This is really helpful for wordpress users. You can also write an article about creating a coming soon template without using a plugin.
