InMotion Hosting uses the Linux operating system on all of our servers. Most programs will work on Linux servers however, some may only function on Windows. Also, some programs may be too resource intensive to use on the hosting package you have. The list below is a basic reference guide to services that are not supported on shared hosting packages. If they can be used on VPS or Dedicated servers it will be noted:

• Active Server Pages (.asp/ .aspx files): Windows only
• Any sofware using SSH including SFTP: Available to VPS and Dedicated Customers
• BoonEx | Dolphin: VPS 512M+ or higher
• ClamAV: Available to VPS or Dedicated customer 
• ColdFusion: Available to Dedicated Customers only
• FFMPEG: Available to VPS and Dedicated Customers
• Git: Available to VPS and Dedicated customer
• MailScanner:Available to VPS and Dedicated Customers
• Mod_Cloudflare: VPS and Dedicated Customers
• IIS: Windows Server OS only
• MS Sharepoint: Windows only
• MS Exchange: Windows only
• MS .NET Framework: Windows Only
• Oracle: Dedicated Only
• PostgreSQL: Available to VPS and Dedicated 
• Ruby on Rails: Available to VPS and Dedicated
• Subversion /SVN:Available to VPS and Dedicated
• Softaculous: Available to VPS and Dedicated
• Tomcat /JSP: VPS 1024M or Higher
• Apache Solr:
• VPN: Dedicated Only
• Adult Themed Sites: Violates our Terms of Service
• LDAP: VPS or higher plans
• Java/ JRE: VPS and Dedicated customers
