During our recent testing of VirtueMart shipping options, we continually received the following error message:

We are sorry, no shipment method matches the characteristics of your order.

We were using the default VirtueMart Shipping module, VM - Shipment, By weight, ZIP and countries. During our investigation, we found this thread in the VirtueMart forums, however none of the solutions recommended helped resolve our issue. After much testing, we finally resolved the issue by deleting our initial shipping option and recreating it from scratch.

If you are experiencing a similar problem, we recommend deleting the shipping option and then setting it up again.
