It's easy to forget passwords so if you have forgotten your FTP password, you can easily reset it. How you reset your password depends on whether you are using your cPanel username for FTP or if you are using a separate FTP account. If you need more information on setting up a FTP account, please see our FTP getting Started Guide. If you are using your cPanel username for FTP purposes you can reset your cPanel password following the steps in our article Resetting your cPanel password in AMP. If you need to reset the password for an FTP account you created (that is not the cPanel username) this can be done through the FTP account section of cPanel.
If you previously saved your FTP password in a FTP client or web publishing software, remmeber to update those settings with the new password as well. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact our support department. |
