For much of the info on your site, one already has to be familiar with the jargon. For non-technical newbies like me, that's not helpful!

Here's the scoop: I have a website at another host. It's got a lot of stuff on it and I'm hoping to move it over a little at a time. The person who asked what I thought was the same question on your site was told to do an addon domain -- but that doesn't seem to make sense. I don't want somebody looking for my site to point to what isn't ready yet -- I want to be able to start putting stuff online until I'm ready for people to be pointed to it. I'm thinking that might not be possible? Am I completely misunderstanding what "pointing" is? (My Java teacher would be so hurt...)
When I try to set up an ftp account to start uploading things, it tells me the ftp address will go to resourceroom.net -- but isn't that going to try to get to my current host?

Need to investigate a domain name I have added-on which is not showing when accessed via google.
