In this tutorial:

APF (Advanced Policy Firewall) lets you easily manage your iptables rules on your Dedicated Hosting Server. When you attempt to install APF you will get a message stating "Package... already installed and latest version. Nothing to do." This is because APF is already installed on all of our servers by default, and there is no need to install it. Since APF is already available you can run APF commands, or replace it with an alternative

APF Alternatives

ConfigServer Firewall (CSF), is a front end to iptables and an alternative to APF. CSF is an advanced option to APF with more features. The installation and setup of CSF is covered in our full guide:

Congratulations, now you understand that APF is already installed on your dedicated server, which means there is no need to install it! You can simply run APF commands, or replace APF with an alternative method for managing IP tables on your dedicated server.
