disable-comments-1-initial-wordpressWordPress themes by default will have Comments enabled for each page. Sites that are designed to have posts, yet no comments, will need to have this feature disabled.

This tutorial will explain how to disable the comments on a page in WordPress. This tutorial will use the Birdsite theme as an example.

Disabling comments in WordPress

  1. Log into the Wordpress Dashboard

  3. disable-comments-3-quick-edit-wordpressHover your mouse over the Page row to display the edit links for the page. Click Quick edit under the Page title.
  4. disable-comments-4-uncheck-wordpressUncheck the Allow Comments checkbox.

    Click Publish.


  5. disable-comments-5-final-moodleNow when visiting the page the comment box will be gone and the site will display Comments are closed.
