An Introduction to Web Hosting - Using Web Host Manager 101

WHM, short for Web Host Manager, is a tool available only to VPS Hosting and Dedicated Hosting users. Much like how cPanel allows you to manage your hosting account, WHM allows you to manage a server with many cPanel accounts. Within WHM, you can create cPanel accounts, which will allow you to resell web hosting accounts and quite literally become your own web hosting provider.

Section 1:
Because WHM puts you in the driver's seat of a web server, we thought it to be a good idea to begin by covering the basics of web hosting in general.
Section 2:
In our previous article, we explained the differences between Shared, VPS, and Dedicated hosting. Because VPS hosting is much different than Shared and Dedicated hosting, we'd like to take the time now to give you a bit more insight into how VPS Hosting works.
Section 3:
WHM can be described as the 'cPanel' of cPanel. WHM is used to create cPanel accounts, and allows you to resell hosting. In this tutorial, we'll discuss more the differences between WHM and cPanel.
Section 4:
Root access in Linux is similar to Administrator access in Windows. VPS and Dedicated users can obtain root access to their servers.
