When working with the multistore option in PrestasShop 1.5, you may want to switch back and forth between the shops while working in a certain area. Certain pages give you the ability to change which store you want to work with. They also allow you to choose to work with shop groups, or all shops. Changing the focus of which shop or group you are working with is known as changing the context of that page.

Switching back and forth between shops

  1. Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard.
  2. Using the top menu bar, hover over your choice of tab, there is not a specific tab to select as the ability to switch shops will display on many pages. For demonstration purposes, we will choose the Catalog tab.
  3. At the top of each screen, you will see a small section named Multishop Configuration For. This has a dropdown where you can choose which store or groups you want to work with.

All Shops Settings will affect all shops.
Group Setting will affect all shops within that particular group.
Individual Shop Settings will affect only that shop.

Please note that there may be a notation on the top of some pages you work on that warns you that changing certain settings will affect all shops, regardless of the setting you have up top. An example of the message is shown below.

Hi
I just enabled multi shop, added shop, url etc and it's working. I'm having an issue though, several people on the Prestashop forums have the same issue but no one seems to reply.
What happens is i try to change the store context e.g. i have All shops, Default, Store 1, Store 2. Its currently set on store 1. When i try to change it to store 2, it refreshes, and remains on store 1. I try to change it to All shops or default, it refreshes and again, remains on store 1.
Do you know what's going on?
I already had store 1 populated with products and fully set up; i only recently decided to enable multishop. Do you think this is an issue?
I'm using 1.5.4 by the way.
Thanks so much!

Hello Diamond,

The Prestashop multi-store is an area that seems to have many inaccuracies. I tested by creating a couple of new shops, being careful to uncheck things in the shop creation page that I did not want to duplicate for my new store. In my new store, for example, I unchecked products so that it would not have any. When I visit the Products page and select the new store, it refreshes and shows no products. If you are having an issue with a specific area I would be glad to test it out. Simply comment below with the area you are having trouble with and any details necessary to try and duplicate the issue.

Best Regards,
Scott M
