In this PrestaShop 1.5 tutorial, we'll show you how to create a new tax. When working with taxes, creating a new tax is the first step. After you have created a new tax, you will then need to create a new tax rule and then assign the tax rule to your products. For an overview on PrestaShop 1.5 taxes, click here.

  1. Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 admin Dashboard
  2. In the top menu, hover over Localization and click Taxes
  3. In the top right menu, click the Add new button
  4. Enter the Name and Rate for your new tax, and then click the Save button in the top left menu

    You can see in the screenshot below how the default tax for Virginia is setup:
