After adding, pricing, and adding shipping to your product, you will want to add inventory quantity to it. It is important to have correct inventory as it lets visitors order the products correctly. It also helps to let you know when you need to reorder the product. Manually adding inventory quantity to your product in PrestaShop 1.5 is very simple and can be done by following the steps below.

To set up shipping for a product in PrestaShop 1.5:

  1. Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard
  2. Using the top menu bar, hover over the Catalog tab and click on the Product selection.
    catalog-tab-products
  3. You are now on the Catalog: Products list page. From here, select the Edit icon (it looks like paper and pencil) on the right for the product you want to edit.

  4. You are now on the Catalog : Edit Products page. From here click on the Quantities tab on the left sidebar.
  5. As this is for manual quantity entry, ensure the radio button named I want to specify available quantities manually  is selected. From here you will enter the number of your product you have on hand in the Quantity field.

What if you only want to manually manage SOME products not all. How can that be done?

You would then need to enable advanced stock management within your PrestaShop admin by Clocking on Products under the Preferences menu option. You will then be able to select within the individual product if you want to automatically manage stock, or to manually manage your stock.

Thanks for the quick response Jeff. But I have a second question. I have hundreds of products and when I enable Advanced Stock Management they all are selected to MANUAL. Is there a way to keep them as-is and be able to select MANUAL when needed?

Unfortunatelty, this functionality is not yet built into PrestaShop. You would need to either change those all, or write script that will change them all for you within the database,.

Hello Jackie,

I'm not 100% sure that the feature you're looking for is in this solution, but there are a bunch of them out there. At least with the PrestaShop Store Manager you can import from a spreadsheet easily, or use the Mass product changer. That may be exactly what you need. Check out this product by going to:

PrestaShop Store Manager

I hope this helps to provide that functionality for which you are searching.

Regards,
Arnel C.
