How to create an image category in Phoca Gallery

After installing Phoca Gallery, the next thing we'll do is make a category for our first set of images, animals. In this tutorial, we'll walk you through the steps for creating an image category in Phoca Gallery.

Creating categories in Phoca Gallery for Joomla 2.5:

1. Log into your Joomla 2.5 admin
2. In the top menu, hover of Components » Phoca Gallery and then click Categories
3. In the top right menu, click New
4. While there are many settings you can adjust for this image category, the minimum requirement is a category title. So, enter a category name next to Title and then click Save in the top right menu.
   
   If the category saved successfully, you will see the following message:
   
   Item successfully saved.
