In a previous article, we created a new Joomla 2.5 menu item that links to a category. When we selected the menu type, we chose Category List. You may have noticed that there was a Category Blog option as well.

What is the difference between a Category List and a Category Blog menu item?

A Category List menu items links to a page that simply "lists" all of the articles belonging to that category.

A Category Blog menu item links to a page that looks more like a traditional blog. Instead of just a listing of articles, the article are shown in a "preview" type mode where it shows a preview of the article's content as well as information such as who wrote it and when.
