212: Joomla 2.5 Advanced Database Information

The only database available for use with Joomla 2.5 is MySQL. You do however need to choose which php extension to use, MySQLi or MySQL.

If you forget your Joomla 2.5 database name, you can find it within your configuration.php file. It will be labeled as $db, which is next to your Joomla 2.5 database username and password as well.

You can change your Joomla 2.5 database username and password through either your Joomla 2.5 admin screen or by manually editing your Joomla configuration.php file. We'll show you how to do both, but we recommend the manual configuration.php change.
