When you are subscribed to McAfee Email Protection, you will receive a spam report via email. There are several different email formats you can choose from.
In this guide we will show you how to choose how you want the email report formatted.
How to Set the McAfee Email Format:
- Access your McAfee Control Console.
- Click the Preferences option.
- Beside the option for Spam Report Content click the drop-down box.
Click your preferred email format, text formatted emails are more simple, since they do not contain any HTML code, but HTML emails can contain direct links to things such as quarantined messages.
Here is a description of the options from the official McAfee Documentation:
Option Description Text - Summary Sends a Text (email) Message containing a count of the number of new messages in the user's quarantine, a total count of all messages in the user's quarantine (if it is different from the new count), and a link to the user's quarantine. (No message details are contained in this message.) All quarantined items Sends an HTML (email) message containing an HTML table of all Spam messages in the User's Quarantine. HTML - New items since last report Sends an HTML (email) message containing an HTML table of any new quarantined spam messages since the user's last report. Text - New items since last report Sends a Text (email) Message noting the number of new messages in the user's quarantine, as well as a Text Summary grid containing message details for all new Spam messages in the User's Quarantine.
- Click the Apply button to record your selection. You will see a message in the Control Console stating "The Preferences were updated successfully."
Congratulations, now you will receive your Spam Report in your selected format!
