In order to set up your email clients like Outlook, Mac mail, or Thunderbird, you will need to obtain your email settings. This article will give you the steps to find your email account settings in cPanel.

Steps to find your email settings

  1. Login into your cPanel.
  2. Click the Email Accounts button in the Email section.

  3. Navigate to your email and click the Set Up Mail Client link to the right of your email account.

    Note! If there is no email account listed, you will need to create one.


  4. Scroll down to the Manual Settings section to view your Secure SSL/TLS, and Non-SSL settings listed. Included will be Username, Password, Incoming Server, Outgoing Server. There is also a notification stating "Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP." It will look like this:

Finding your email settings in Webmail

  1. Log into your Webmail.
  2. Click your username in the top-right corner. In the drop-down menu select Configure Mail Client.

  3. Scroll down to the Manual Settings section to view your Secure SSL/TLS, and Non-SSL settings listed. Included will be Username, Password, Incoming Server, Outgoing Server. There is also a notification stating "Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP." It will look like this:

Note about Reseller Email Server Settings (not VPS, or Dedicated)

If you are a Reseller customer using the default secure settings, the incoming and outgoing mail server will look like this:

secure###.servconfig.com

I am attempting to add my email to my iphone. It asks for the Host name. I do not see that listed under your instructions. Any advice?

Hello,

As per this tutorial the "host setting" is typically something like "mail.server.com" . The link provided for the article should go here. This will provide your email server settings. An example of the secure setting would be: secure111.inmotionhosting.com (secure###.servconfig.com for a reseller account).

we are having issues setting up an email account in office365.

we cand send email out, but we dont see any of the incoming emails

You will want to proceed first with basic email troubleshooting. For example, checking to make sure you are using the correct incoming server settings.
