I followed the tutorial on installing wordpress to my website, but, it won't install. I still get that awful GoDaddy page. How do I get wordpress up and running?

I have a similar question.
I have installed wordpress (I have not yet changed the DNS from my DNS server) but either the temp link and the permanent link given in Account Technical Details won't work. I already reinstalled wordpress a few times.
The temp link is this http://biz170.inmotionhosting.com/~trdevs5/
and it looks really weird.

What can I do?

Hi generic230,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you today. It sounds as if you have not pointed your domain to your hosting account with InMotion Hosting. You need to update the nameservers in your GoDaddy admin section to reflect our nameservers. Here's a link you may find helpful:

Changing you nameservers at GoDaddy

Also, once you change the nameservers it can take up to 24 hours to take effect. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!

Hello SergioGpl,

Thank you for contacting us. Sometimes CMS's such as WordPress do not like when you test on a temp URL, in these cases, I recommend testing with a Host File modification. This allows your computer to resolve to our servers for testing, before pointing your DNS.

I tested using this method, and your website displays successfully.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,
John-Paul
