I'm installing Wordpress in a subdirectory of my existing website until I get it ready to publish. I have wordpress uploaded to the subdirectory. The next step in "Wordpress Famous 5 minute install" is open wp-admin/install.php and it will guide you through the install process. I can't get the php file to open. When I click on the PHP icon for this file in File Manager it asks "do you want to open or save?" I select "open" and it says Error PHP is not running on your server. (I don't have fantastico, this is a VPS server.) I did live chat with InMotion, they sent me to "Install Wordpress Manually." That led to the same error.

Hi Gary2,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. I'd like to attempt to replicate the error you are seeing. To do so, can you provide me a link to the URL you are trying to view in the browser?

Any additional information you can provide, will be beneficial as well. Also, you need to upload the WordPress files to your server. You do not "open" the file on your local computer.

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!

Tim S
