two wordpress sites - one database
Category: Wordpress
I know from reading online that you can have two separate wordpress sites utilize the same database.... my question is how do you make this happen.
I understand needing to have the second sites tables use a prefix so they dont interfere with the original sites tables, but how do i do this?
Any links to tutorials or advice would be awesome - wordpress has a bit about this on their site, but they are pretty vague.
*note the original site (http://www.jrulle.com) is already up and running, i am trying to add a second blog site.

Hi jrulle, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. What you're referring to is called a WordPress "MultiSite" or MS. It used to be called WordPress MU. While we don't have any documentation on setting up WordPress MS, here's a link to their official documentation: Setting up WordPress MultiSite This will allow you to manage both WordPress site's from one admin dashboard as well. I hope this helps! If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thanks! Tim S |
