Temporary URL doesn't work but redirects to domain name

Hello,

I just ordered the "Launch" Business Class Hosting and registered a new domain name through ordering process. But when I try to access the website using the temporary URL, I am redirected to the domain name that was purchased (and hasn't yet finished propagating because it's only been 1 hour since I ordered the package).

I installed WordPress using Softaculous located in cPanel so I reconfigured the wp-config.php file as instructed here:

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/wordpress-introduction/installing-wordpress-using-your-temporary-url

However, this didn't resolve the redirection issue. I was still being redirected to the domain name.

I then made changes to (2) database rows in the wp_options table as documented here:

https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/wordpress_url

However, this didn't resolve my issue either. Attempting to access the temporary URL continues to redirect me to the domain name "version" (which hasn't finished propagating through the various systems).

Is there any way for me to access the WordPress Admin before waiting for the domain name to finish propagating?

Hello standardtoaster,

Thank you for your question. When I looked your email address up, it lists 2 accounts, I checked both and don't see the updated wp-config.php file.

It should contain the following lines, be sure to update with your actual Temp URL:

define('WP_HOME','http://ecbiz107.inmotionhosting.com/~usern99');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://ecbiz107.inmotionhosting.com/~usern99');

If that is not working, most likely your Temp URL is coded in the Database, in which case I recommend searching your database for any instances of the domain it is redirecting to, and updating it with the Temp URL.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.
Thank you,

-John-Paul
