I have transferred my website over from another ISP.

It's URL is now www.niosm.com/niosm/ I want it in www.niosm.com. The wordpress installation "Softaculous?" required me to use the subdirectory (niosm) as niosm.com is "not a valid directory name." How do I go about fixing this?

Thanks!

Hello Ohdarn,

Sorry to hear of the difficulties you've had with the URL during the Wordpress installation. The good news is that you can change the site URL through the WordPress Admin dashboard. Check out this article on Changing the Site URL. It should allow you to change the URL that is used to access your website.

I hope this helps to resolve your problem! Let us know if you require any further assistance.

Regards,
Arnel C.

Hi,

I am from the Softaculous team. This issue has been addressed in Softaculous 4.2.8 which was released last week. We are in contact with the Inmotion team and they will be updating Softaculous to the latest version soon. Once it is updated you should be able to install in a directory which contains "." eg : niosm.com

Inmotionhosting is still using 4.2.7. Hopefully they'll update it soon.

Hello softaculous and Ohdarn,

Thank you softaculous for stepping in and letting us know this problem is addressed in the latest version!

Ohdarn you are right, Softaculous 4.2.7 is currently being run on the shared server your account resides on. I have spoken with our senior system administration team and they do have plans on soon rolling out the latest updates.

I apologize for the issues in the mean time, and please let us know if you had any further questions at all!
