How do I fix a database error when installing WordPress?
Category: Wordpress
I've tried installing wordpress through FTP several times and haven't had any success. I've created a database and entered all of the database information in the wp-config.php file. However, after the FTP finishes, the database is still empty.

Hi sjunda, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. FTP is only uploading files. The actual database tables are created during the installation process. You do not need to install WordPress manually, since it is available to install using Fantastico de Luxe in cPanel. However, I have visited your website and I'm seeing a database error. I'm happy to look over the error, but please do not work on the files while I'm doing so. As soon as I am finished I will notify you via a comment on this question. I have fixed the database error by adding a user to the database and placing that users password in the wp-config file. You can now finish your WordPress installation. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us. Thanks! Tim S |
