Error establishing a database connection

I lost my wordpress site during the migration but lucky i had an archive backup. I have tried setting up the site again but i am getting 'Error establishing a database connection' on both ends ( admin & front end) what am i missing?
my installation was at http://www.hdi.or.ke/trial and wanted to move the site to root folder as http://www.hdi.or.ke

Any help will be appreciated
