How to develop WP site without public access?

I'm building a WP site but don't want to "publish" until all components are ready to go live. I also want to allow access to an external developer in addition to myself. How can I do that within IMH?

Hello Lorimae,

This is actually easily done with a plug-in called Maintenance Mode. You can develop the website on your URL and only you or whoever can access will be able to see it while you're in this mode. Take your pick of the many different Maintenance Mode plugins - login to your WP Admin, go to Plugins, click on ADD NEW, search for "maintenance mode" and you'll see all the different ones pop up.
