I'm a new client of InMotion and easily set up my primary website and tested it using my temporary URL. Now I want to setup a number of other domains and subdomains - but haven't figured out how to access them for testing. More specifically, how to I access a domain other than my primary and/or a subdomain for testing using a temporary URL?

Found the answer myself. Use http://tempservername/~username/addon-*domain-to-access

Hi there,
I am brand new customer, and have a question - I already have my hosting here, and try to populate all stuff from my previous hosting. I've created several subdomains, but placed them outside /public_html folder (in /subdomains folder). So, the question is: How to access these subdomains with temporary URL? it seems that http://server###.inmotionhosting.com/~userna5/ points to /public_html folder, so I need something like this: http://server###.inmotionhosting.com/~userna5/../subdomains/sub1
Thanx in advance!

Hello lbickley,

Thank you for your question on accessing the subdomain via the Temp URL. I do see you already discovered the answer but will answer again for anyone else who has the same question.

Accessing your main domain with the temp URL is done using the format: http://server###.inmotionhosting.com/~userna5/

A subdomain accesses a folder under the public_html, so if you want to access the temp URL for test.example.com then the temp URL format will point to the subfolder as such: http://server###.inmotionhosting.com/~userna5/test

Kindest Regards,
Scott M

Hello Exmagi5,

Thanks for the question about accessing your folders. The temporary URL accesses the folders based on the root domain location which is public_html. So, by default, the temporary URL will access the files in place of the main domain name like this:

http://server####.inmotionosting.com/ (public_html)

If you are saving the files outside of the pubic_html folder, then the temporary URL by default will not be able to access them. You can request for a change in the document root, but it would have to access the files through a subfolder under your account. The temporary URL can only access files through the document root - not from the root user folder (userna5 as you have referenced it).

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
