first byte time

Hi, I did a web page speed on my site and everything is cool except for the first Byte time which got an F. I did some research and apparently it's to do with the server?
What can be done to resolve this?
Found the problem thanks to Andy Bailey. Apparently the infolinks plugin was conflicting with several others. Deactivated the plugin and now all is right with the world.
