I'm logging in with Filezilla and get the following message.

Status: Resolving address of brentmartindesign.com
Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known".
Error: Could not connect to server

I can log into my other inmotion hosted domains this way.

Hello Brentmartin,

I'm sorry to hear of your login issues. I just went into your account created a test FTP account and logged into it with Filezilla to test it. I received no errors and it logged in with no problems (test account is deleted now, by the way). The server is therefore definitely taking FTP logins without any issues. It's possible that you're having a network issue unrelated to the server. However, let me suggest a few things:

  • Double-check the URL you're using - sometimes it's something as simple as a space after the domain name

  • Try using ecbiz129.inmotionhosting.com as the server name. That is the server that the account is on, so you can use the server name instead of the domain name.

If the problem still persists, I suggest running the diagnostics in this article:

Running a Ping and Traceroute
The article is also about why is my website slow, but the important thing is to try running the traceroute and ping from your location to see if you can connect with our servers.

We would need ALL of the information in the diagnostics emailed to support@inmotionhosting.com. They can see what's happening in the route that your computer takes to connect to our server.

Sorry again for the connection issues. Let us know if the problem persists.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

Regards,

Arnel C.
