Hi jgdouglass, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you today. Joomla is a content management system, and while there may be specific modules you can install in Joomla to work as e-commerce, it's not intended from it's default installation to handle the sale of goods or products. If you are looking to install an e-commerce solution, where your sites visitors can purchase things directly from your website, we suggest using a shopping cart such as OpenCart. OpenCart is a free e-commerce software that allows you to sell goods or services directly from your website. Our education channel is pretty comprehensive and will walk you through setting up your store. As for Joomla, it's a great content management system. However, it does have a larger learning curve than other CMS such as Wordpress. Here's a few links on both Content Management Systems such as Joomla and WordPress: Installing WordPress Installing Joomla InMotion Hosting is a virtual private server provider, and we also provide the top dedicated hosting and shared hosting solutions as well. OpenCart, Joomla, and WordPress can be ran on all platforms that we provide. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thanks! Tim S |
