What is a "Desired Certificate Name" when purchasing a Dedicated SSL from InMotion?
Category: Ssl
...and how will that effect the URL structure when accessing a webpage using the SSL?
If I name the SSL certificate "secure." will mysite.com show up a secure.mysite.com when accessing a secure version of a webpage on my site?
Is there anyway to strip the Certificate Name and just show https://mysite.com ?
Thanks,

Hello Teebid, The 'desired certificate name' is the name you want the SSL to be set up for. Most go with their main domain name, for example: domain.com If you state 'secure' then the certificate would be made for secure.domain.com. If you want it to be just yoursite.com, simply put yoursite.com in that slot. I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you. Best Regards, Scott M |
