I've noticed that when I open my Account Management Panel (AMP) it opens with a secure connection (i.e https). However, the moment I open cPanel, the link for cPanel shows a red strike-through over the beginning 'https', and and 'X' over the lock icon. That's very confusing since I don't know if it's indicating a problem or just that it isn't a secure connection. I'd have expected that the cPanel would absolutely be over a secure connection, but maybe not since I'm on a shared server (with shared SSL I guess). So what's the scoop?

Hi CPL,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you today. If you are on a shared server you have access to use the shared SSL. However, on VPS and dedicated servers there is no SSL available. Therefore, you would need to purchase an SSL for your server if you wish to connect via HTTPS. If you'd like to purchase an SSL you can do so in AMP. Here's a link that may help you out:

How to obtain an SSL

I hope this helps! If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thank you!
