Hello Sipsep,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with the installation. However, your support center login does not relate to any hosting account that I can find, and you do not give any information about the software version you're loading other than the possibility that it's Prestashop 1.5 since you posted in that section. How are you loading Prestashop? (if that's what you are loading) Are you using an install program like Softaculous?

Actually, I double-checked PrestaShop's forums and it is an official bug that Prestashop developers have fixed. Check out this post here: Installation fails at 23%.

The link provided at the bottom of that article indicates the coding changes to fix the problem. There are 5 changes to the different files in the PrestaShop installation. Make sure that the files that you get are updated with those changes. Otherwise, you would need to make the changes yourself. The red lines on the correction page indicate lines that need to removed and the green lines indicate lines that need to be added.

If you require any further assistance, please let us know.

Regards,
Arnel C.

This has been the most painful installation. I am really disappointed.

Hello Sipsep,

I'm sorry you're still having problems with the installation. Telling us you're installing it on localhost has nothing to do with the error message you're getting, unfortunately. If you could please provide us information about your account - such as your URL, then we would be happy to look at the issue for you. However, if you're hosted elsewhere, then you will need to modify the files as noted by developers of PrestaShop. It would also help if you can describe how you're installing it.

If necessary, I can email you the modified files - but I need to know what version you're trying to install. Also, please make sure that you have deleted the files from your previous attempts.

Please provide us more information and we would be happy to help.

Regards,
Arnel C.

I am testing the install via wamp on my PC. Just stops at 23% with the language error mentioned. There are numerous postings on the Internet with the exact problem. I downloaded version 1.5.4. from the official site. Thanks.

Hello again Sipsep,

You asked, "Why don't they fix the installation files?" - good question. Personally, like you I believe that they should also provide the latest fix in the installation files, but for programming project of this scope, they tend to update the installation code only after certain periods. This allows them to catch other issues that you may or may not be seeing. Check out this page and you'll get an idea of the scope of work that the programmers go through for each release. It's a massive project. That's the change log summarizing hundreds (if not thousands) of changes or improvements.

Also, please note that PrestaShop is a separate entity from InMotion Hosting - we provide hosting and support for their product, but unfortunately we do not control their development processes.

Regards,
Arnel C.
