I've added some accessories to a product in Presta Shop, but when I go to the front end and click on the "Accessories" tab of the product I added them to, they don't show up. Any ideas as to why?

Hello southsidevacuum,

Sorry to hear that you're still having issues with this. This sounds like a semi-common problem affecting other PrestaShop users as well. Do you happen to have your store that isn't working in catalog mode?

There is a post on the PrestaShop forums covering the product accessory not appearing in catalog mode that might be helpful. It suggests modifying the /themes/yourtheme/product.tpl file around line 300 which looks like this:

{if ($accessory.allow_oosp || $accessory.quantity_all_versions > 0 || $accessory.quantity > 0) AND $accessory.available_for_order AND !isset($restricted_country_mode)}

It seems like a user on the forum was able to remove the AND $accessory.available_for_order section of the code to have it working for them.

Are you using the default theme or another PrestaShop theme that you have found? If you're not comfortable with troubleshooting the code, you might wish to contact your theme developer to have them look into it for you.

Hello southsidevacuum,

We're not sure then what your issue might be then. You'd probably have better success posting on the PrestaShop forums to find a solution.

If you'd like for us to take a closer look for you, we'd need some more pertinent information about this issue such as the domain name it's happening on, what product you're adding accessories for, and has anything been modified in your install? As it sounds like the new install you setup in a separate folder isn't having these issues.

Hello southsidevacuum,

Thanks for making a video showing the issues you're having. My first guess would be possibly some JavaScript not being properly loaded on your web-browser. However I went ahead and logged into your PrestaShop admin and couldn't replicate your problems when I tried to confirm this.

As you can see, I attempted to do the same thing you did in your video and was able to successfully have the accessory list populate automatically.

It looks like you're using Google Chrome, so I would recommend when you're logged into PrestaShop prior to trying to type in an accessory item, hit F12 on your keyboard to enter the Chrome Developer Tools, then hit Esc and you should see the JavaScript debugger at the bottom of the screen.

If you see any errors mentioned there, that is more than likely what is causing your specific issue. But it seems to be specific to the computer you're accessing the site with, and not a server-side or PrestaShop issue.

If you find any errors reported there, please let us know what they are if you're having troubles figuring out how to fix them.

This entire URL is controlled via variables within your code. It is read from within admin123/index.php which then pulls various content from other files linked within it. To track down any styling in your code, you will need to investigate code within the index.php file, and trace it back into any files that are referenced within it.

Hello Phillipsg,

I took a look at my latest version of PrestaShop (1.54) - there is no specific Accessories tab. However, you can create a CATEGORY named Accessories and then assign it to a CATEORY under the ASSOCIATIONS tab in the CATALOG>Products tab. Can you please explain how you are assigning the accessory? Your query is a little vague and we need to follow how you're doing this in order to troubleshoot the problem, especially since we can't access your site. Please give us the steps to replicate the problem and we would happy to follow up on the issue with you.

The general link for adding products in Prestashop 1.5 is here: How to add a Product in PrestaShop 1.5

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

Hello southsidevacuum,

Thank you for sharing your youtube video, I understand the issue you are have much better now. Unfortunately, I was unable to replicate the problem, since the drop-down selection works on a default installation of PrestaShop.

Your PrestaShop error logs may provide more specific clues, here is a link to our guides on Managing error logs in PrestaShop.

This could also be caused by a module, you can try disabling any modules that were added after the default installation one by one, and test until it works.

Also, the Official PrestaShop Forums are a good place to post questions, since other PrestaShop developers frequent the site.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.
Thank you,

-John-Paul

Hi there . I had the exact same problem. Spend houres of searching for the problem.
I my case it was caused by a module called: Crea Form. Disabling it made everything work fine again.
Maybe this can help anyone in the future
